One of the best preserved Bulgarian Medieval churches, which is a typical representative of the picturesque style in church architecture is the church “Christ Pantocrator” located in the center of Old Nessebar.

It was built in the XIII-XIV century and was designed in late Byzantine style. The Church of Christ Pantocrator is rectangular in plan, with two entrances – west and south and has a pronounced elongated proportions.

The monument impresses with its rich exterior decoration. A belt of high, concave arches runs along its entire length. Rows of typical for that time decoration of bowls and four-leaf clover. Ornate drum on the dome, equipped with 8 arched windows. Inside the walls are preserved traces of original frescoes that once covered them.
